Recently, actor Yoon Shi-yoon, known for his discipline and meticulous lifestyle, stunned both viewers and cast members of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy” by revealing his drastic method of weight loss: a 24-hour dehydration diet.
In particular, to prepare for his upcoming role in the K-drama “Taxi Driver 3”, Yoon Shi-yoon aimed to refine his physique by eliminating all sources of water, including even those found in food, for a full day. The actor revealed he would attempt this diet just 3 days before his first filming, shocking many people.
This “24-hour dehydration die” is an extreme approach commonly used by combat athletes for rapid weight cuts, leading to visibly shocking results. Alongside cutting water, the actor also pushed through intense exercise sessions throughout the day, until he ultimately collapsed from exhaustion.
“Even watching him made me thirsty,” and “How can you survive without drinking water?”, said bewildered people in the studio as they watched the actor research and cook recipes for dry food, as with some even starting to chug water in disbelief.
Yoon Shi-yoon’s commitment raised eyebrows and admiration alike. MC Seo Jang Hoon remarked, “He’s really going to the extreme,” while others were left speechless by his unexpected behavior after the diet’s conclusion.
The full segment of Yoon Shi-yoon’s extreme physique maintenance regime will air on June 22 at 9 PM KST on SBS, promising a mix of concern, awe, and laughter. Meanwhile, previously on the June 1st episode of “My Little Old Boy”, Yoon Shi-yoon revealed the reason he left Korea last year: to study English in the Philippines.
