It was a miracle.
A woman in southeastern China has stunned netizens after surviving a horrifying situation.

Quin, age 48, spent 54 hours trapped in an abandoned well after accidentally falling during a walk in the woods on September 13. With the well’s narrow top and wide bottom making escape impossible, she clung to the wall, battling exhaustion, mosquito swarms, and even water snakes.

Her family reported her missing the next day, and by September 15, rescue efforts were launched. A team of 10 rescuers with a thermal drone eventually located her after faint cries for help were heard around 1:45 p.m. She was found submerged in water, gripping slippery cracks in the wall with pale, injured hands.

Qin later revealed she survived by clinging to a stone and digging out makeshift footholds, refusing to give up for the sake of her elderly parents and college-aged daughter. After being pulled out, she was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found two fractured ribs, a minor collapsed lung, and severe hand injuries.

Now in stable condition, Qin’s incredible willpower has gone viral across Chinese social media, with commenters calling her survival story “unimaginable” and “the strength of a true fighter.”
