KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” has unveiled its second teaser!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “My Girlfriend Is the Man!” is a romantic comedy about a college student whose girlfriend unexpectedly transforms into a man.
ASTRO’s Yoon San Ha stars as Park Yoon Jae, an astronomy major who is head over heels for his girlfriend Kim Ji Eun (OH MY GIRL’s Arin). Due to a gene that runs in her family, Kim Ji Eun suddenly turns into a handsome man (played by Yoo Jung Hoo) and begins going by the name Kim Ji Hoon. Chuu plays the role of Kang Min Joo, a popular student who develops a crush on Park Yoon Jae.
The newly released teaser begins with heart-fluttering moments between Park Yoon Jae and Kim Ji Eun. Smiling brightly by his side, Kim Ji Eun says, “Thank you for seeing me and loving me,” as she snuggles into his arms. The two draw hearts together and share affectionate moments like any happy couple.
However, just as Kim Ji Eun narrates, “Everything in the world happens because the main character falls in love with something,” the mood takes a sharp turn as Kim Ji Hoon, the male version of Kim Ji Eun, screams in horror upon seeing his reflection. Park Yoon Jae is left frozen in shock as Kim Ji Hoon, tearing up with the same expressions and tone as Kim Ji Eun, confesses, “It’s me. Ji Eun.” Overwhelmed, Kim Ji Hoon cries out, “What do I do?” as he flails in despair at his sudden transformation.
Meanwhile, Kang Min Joo adds fuel to the tension by boldly flirting with Park Yoon Jae and admitting she has feelings for him, causing Kim Ji Hoon to glare at her with piercing eyes.
Later, Kim Ji Hoon yells into the phone, “What? A motel? Who did he go with?” before spotting Park Yoon Jae coming out of a motel and tearfully declaring, “I’m Park Yoon Jae’s girlfriend!” As the caption reads, “No matter what I look like, I want to be by your side,” Kim Ji Hoon tells Park Yoon Jae, “Nothing’s changed except that I’ve become a man,” expressing his desperate wish to stay with him.
In the final scene, Park Yoon Jae looks intently at Kim Ji Hoon lying next to him. The teaser ends with flashbacks of Park Yoon Jae reaching out to grab Kim Ji Eun’s wrist as her voice pleads, “Please, can’t you just trust me this once?”
“My Girlfriend Is the Man!” will premiere on July 23 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
