Netflix’s upcoming film “Good News” has locked in its premiere date and unveiled a striking new poster and teaser trailer!
Set in 1970, “Good News” follows a group of people who hatch a suspicious plan to land a hijacked airplane by any means necessary.
The newly released poster captures attention with the Korean Peninsula as its backdrop, framed by the enigmatic fixer known only as Nobody (Sul Kyung Gu) and elite Air Force lieutenant Seo Go Myung (Hong Kyung).
In the film, a passenger plane is hijacked by a Japanese communist group and forced toward Pyongyang. As the governments of Japan and South Korea scramble to respond, Nobody—a mysterious problem solver with no known name or background—receives a direct order from the Korean Central Intelligence Agency chief Park Sang Hyun (Ryoo Seung Bum) to make sure the plane lands. With his razor-sharp wit, quick improvisation, and uncanny adaptability, Nobody has long operated in the shadows, handling the nation’s most delicate crises. But his unreadable expression hints that this mission will be anything but easy.
Meanwhile, Seo Go Myung, an elite lieutenant unexpectedly drawn into the operation, faces a near-impossible task: to outsmart the hijackers and re-hijack the already hijacked plane from the ground. Pictured in the poster as if emerging from Nobody’s mind, Seo Go Myung’s grim determination raises questions about whether he can succeed in carrying out the daring plan.
The teaser kicks off with Nobody’s line: “Real events that happened, a little bit of creativity, and the willingness to believe—when those three things come together…” From there, the suspense ramps up as a clandestine mission unfolds to bring the hijacked aircraft safely onto Korean soil. Set to an upbeat rhythm, the trailer highlights the dramatic transformation of Gimpo Airport into Pyongyang Airport, further fueling curiosity about how Nobody, Seo Go Myung, and Park Sang Hyun will carry out such an unprecedented operation.
Adding to the intrigue, Seo Go Myung remarks, “Sometimes even the truth lies,” to which Nobody replies, “And lies also tell the truth.” Paired with the tagline “Unbelievable news,” the trailer leaves audiences wondering if this daring mission will ultimately deliver the “Good News” its title promises.
“Good News” will premiere on October 17.
