The upcoming Korean action-hero series “Twelve” has unveiled its first look at the cast’s script reading session!

Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels who live among humans in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns.

The script reading brought together directors Kang Dae Kyu and Han Yoon Sun along with the star-studded cast, including Ma Dong Seok, Seo In Guk, Sung Dong Il, Go Kyu Pil, Kang Mina, Sung Yoo Bin, Ahn Ji Hye, and more.

Leading the cast is Ma Dong Seok as Tae San, the tiger angel and powerful leader of the twelve. With his trademark strength, charisma, and a touch of humor, Ma Dong Seok commanded the room, adding complexity to Tae San’s character as a figure torn between immense power and the burden of leadership.

Seo In Guk seamlessly embodied Won Seung, the monkey angel, who is brimming with loyalty and passion as he dreams of becoming the next leader after Tae San.

Sung Dong Il transformed into Ma Rok, the overseer of the angels. As a human chosen by the heavens, Ma Rok unites and protects the group, serving as their dependable anchor.

Go Kyu Pil plays Do Ni, the pig angel with a warm heart and the unique ability to communicate with animals.

Kang Mina plays Kang Ji, the dog angel known for her bravery, persistence, and exceptional combat skills. Though she may appear sharp, her deep love for humanity shines through in her eyes and voice, making her a compelling and heartfelt character.

Sung Yoo Bin stars as Jwi Dol, the rat angel whose quick judgment makes him the brains of the group and an indispensable member of the team.

Lastly, Ahn Ji Hye transforms into Mal Sook, the horse angel who lets her actions speak louder than words, exuding charisma and dominating opponents in a flash.

“Twelve” will premiere on KBS 2TV on August 23.
