SBS’s upcoming comedy sports drama “The Winning Try” has unveiled another teaser video!
“The Winning Try” tells the story of Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang), a former rugby star who falls from grace due to a doping scandal. After he returns to his alma mater as the new coach of its bottom-ranked high school rugby team, he leads the underdog squad on a quest to win the National Sports Festival.
The new teaser opens by highlighting the team’s dismal record: 25 losses in 26 matches over one season, with no coach in sight—until Joo Ga Ram arrives. Despite his tainted past, Joo Ga Ram shows up brimming with energy and enthusiasm, trying his best to connect with the demoralized team.
However, his return is not without conflict. Tensions quickly rise between Ga Ram and Kim Min Joong (Song Young Kyu), the school’s former rugby coach who has since moved on to another school, as Min Joong doesn’t hesitate to mock Ga Ram and the team. On top of that, Ga Ram finds himself at odds with Bae Yi Ji (Im Se Mi), the school’s shooting coach and his ex-girlfriend.
While many around him believe Ga Ram’s comeback is all for show and won’t truly impact the team’s performance, his relentless optimism and bright smile suggest otherwise. Whether he can defy expectations and transform the team into champions remains to be seen in the upcoming series.
