Suspect Caught On CCTV For Vulgar Graffiti Towards Popular Singer

It was a woman.

On June 13, the Gangnam Police Station arrested a woman  “A” in her thirties and is investigating her on charges of property damage and insult.

Recently, Channel A released CCTV footage showing “A” walking down a street in Gangnam, suddenly stopping and writing on a no-parking sign with a pen. She was also caught writing on a nearby utility pole.

The insulting graffiti toward singer BoA was found in more than 10 confirmed locations, including bus stops and billboards.

Graffiti is a criminal act that damages public facilities and may be subject to charges such as property damage and insult.

SM Entertainment announced their position and stated, “We have confirmed through fan reports and our monitoring of the graffiti insulting our artist BoA. We continuously monitor and will take strong legal action against illegal acts to protect our artists.”

Meanwhile, fans voluntarily worked together to try to erase the vulgar graffiti around Seoul.
