The stars of “Spring of Youth” have shared their final remarks ahead of the drama’s finale!
“Spring of Youth” tells the story of Sa Gye (Ha Yoo Joon), a member of K-pop’s most famous band, who is suddenly ousted from his group. As he enrolls and adjusts to college life for the first time, he falls for Kim Bom (Park Ji Hu) and rediscovers his passion for music by joining a campus band. N.Flying’s Lee Seung Hyub stars as Sa Gye’s romantic rival Seo Tae Yang.
With the final episode airing tonight, leads Ha Yoo Joon, Park Ji Hu, Lee Seung Hyub, Seo Hye Won, and Kim Sun Min have shared their closing thoughts, memorable scenes, and what to watch for in the finale.
Ha Yoo Joon expressed, “I still can’t believe it’s ending already, I feel a bit sad. There were so many happy and enjoyable moments during filming, and I believe the emotions I felt were conveyed well to the viewers.”
He picked TWO SAGYE’s busking scene in Episode 4 as his most memorable scene, saying, “It was freezing cold, but the cast cheered each other on as we filmed. Even though we gathered as actors, it felt like we became one through music.” As for the finale, he teased, “You’ll see Sa Gye experiencing a complex mix of sadness and happiness,” before adding, “I hope the drama brought small joys to your daily life. Roopretelcham!”
Park Ji Hu shared, “Thinking about how I won’t be waiting excitedly in front of the TV for ‘Spring of Youth’ each week makes me feel empty. But it was such a wonderful time, like experiencing the most radiant spring ever.”
She chose the “eye communication” scene at the end of Episode 8 and start of Episode 9 as her most unforgettable scene, explaining, “During that shoot, I focused entirely on Kim Bom’s feelings and looked only into Sa Gye’s eyes. I remember feeling like time had stopped.” Highlighting the finale, she said, “The truth will finally be revealed.” She concluded, “Thank you for giving me such joy each week. Although Kim Bom is leaving, spring returns every year, so I hope you continue to welcome it and enjoy your spring days to the fullest.”
Lee Seung Hyub reflected, “This project helped me grow as an actor. Thanks to Director Kim Sung Yong, the writer, and all the staff guiding me each moment, I was able to express and feel so much.”
He fondly recalled filming with his on-screen father Kim Jong Tae, saying, “It was such a valuable experience. On set, I always called him ‘father.’ There was also a funny incident where I called Jo Han Chul ‘father’ too, since he played my dad in my previous drama ‘Love Next Door,’ and they were both on set together.”
Lee Seung Hyub added, “Even though youth can be painful and difficult, I hope you watch the finale to see how it eventually blooms beautifully.” He continued, “I wonder if viewers felt energized remembering their own passionate moments and dreams. Like Tae Yang in ‘Spring of Youth,’ I, Lee Seung Hyub, will keep running towards my dreams. I hope to act and be loved for a long time, so please continue to watch over me.”
Seo Hye Won, who brought energy to the drama as Bae Gyu Ri, shared, “I loved this project so much that I still carry a group photo of TWO SAGYE in my phone case even now after filming has ended. I miss the team, the staff who captured everything so beautifully, and our always-kind director.”
She said, “The band’s group performance scenes were so cool they made me want to learn an instrument and join a band myself. Among my scenes with Jin Gu, the grilled fish scene was particularly memorable because we worked hard for it and I felt so connected to Jin Gu while filming it.” She ended with, “Thank you for looking favorably upon Gyu Ri. I hope ‘Spring of Youth’ brought joy to your everyday life!”
Kim Sun Min, who starred as charming drummer Gong Jin Gu, reflected, “There were so many firsts for me on this set. I was always nervous, excited, and thrilled, and though I made many mistakes, the director, actors, and staff kindly guided and supported me.”
He also chose the grilled fish scene with Seo Hye Won as his favorite memory, saying, “I wanted to show viewers Jin Gu’s sweet and heart-fluttering gaze towards Gyu Ri, so we even rented a practice room on our days off to rehearse it thoroughly. I think it turned out great, and that’s why it’s so memorable to me.”
He concluded, “Thank you for loving Jin Gu until the end and for watching ‘Spring of Youth.’ I will continue to work hard in future projects, so please look forward to what’s next.”
