Popular Idol Calls Out Agency Unfairly Terminating His Contract On His Album Release Date

Recently, idol Yong Junhyung called out his agency over his alleged contract termination.

On June 21, Junhyung shared a post to his Instagram story, accusing his label of wrongdoing regarding his contract.

According to the idol, he was told on March 25, 2024, the release date of his album, Beautiful Dystopia, that his contract was terminated. He also claims that the agency demanded billions of won in damages and compensation for things that he did not consent to.

Last year, on the day my album was released, they suddenly said that because the number of business entities had increased, the label had to be reorganized and that they would terminate the contract unconditionally.
I was confused and said I couldn’t just agree to that, but then suddenly they said, ‘Let’s try working together again.’ Then, a month or two later, they unilaterally told me to leave the company.

But they told me to pay the amount of damages determined by the company and the money they received from investors at a brokerage firm I had no agreement or knowledge of.
They said the reason was due to certain clauses in the contract, but there hasn’t been a single instance of me violating the contract since signing it…

Now they’re telling me to just pay billions of won and leave?
That’s unacceptable, so I asked them to carry out the management duties until the end as stated in the contract.

It’s been several months of no contact.

Junhyung has been signed under his own self-made label, BLACK MADE, since 2022. In 2024, it was reported that BLACK MADE was actually a sub-label of BIG PLANET MADE (BPM), a sub-label of ONE HUNDRED.
