Over the last few years, repeated rumors have circulated regarding an alleged relationship between BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and BTS‘s V.
2021
The suspicions first arose in December 2021 when V seemed to accidentally follow Jennie on Instagram, implying it was because of Instagram’s suggested following features.
2022
The rumors only intensified after the first of several “leaked” photos, mainly by an anonymous user named Gurumi Haribo. In May 2022, a photo alleged to show Jennie and V visiting Jeju Island together circulated, as media reported that the two had gone on vacation.
YG Entertainment released a statement on May 22, stating that it had nothing to say.
On August 22, the first of Gurumi Haribo’s alleged leaks allegedly showed Jennie and V in a backstage setting as the latter got his hair done. Two days later, another image of the two, allegedly at V’s apartment, was leaked, while a photo posted by Jennie was connected to V.
September saw more leaks from Gurumi Haribo, as BIGHIT MUSIC and YG Entertainment issued statements about violations of artists rights.
2023
On May 17 2023, a France-based photographer allegedly captured the two idols strolling through Paris on a date while they attended solo events.

This triggered both idols’ companies to address the dating rumors shortly after, both stating it was the artists’ private lives and they had no details.
In December 2023, V’s military service was announced, with media reporting that the pair had split a day after.
2025
V was discharged from the military on June 10, 2025, and the following month, the photographer who shared the Paris date hinted at exposing more of the couple.
August 2025 has seen a renewal of dating rumors, with it alleged that Jennie travelled to Los Angeles to spend time with V as netizens have connected recent posts made by each idol to each other.
