“My Daughter Is a Zombie” is off to a phenomenal start at the box office!
On August 4, the Korean Film Council announced that the film had officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers that afternoon. Released on July 30, the movie reached the milestone in under six days—making it the fastest film of the year to do so.
The film made headlines on its opening day, setting the record for both the biggest Korean box office opening of 2025 and the biggest opening of all time for a Korean comedy film. Its current momentum mirrors that of “12.12: The Day,” which went on to attract over 10 million viewers, heightening anticipation for how far “My Daughter Is a Zombie” can go this summer.
“My Daughter is a Zombie” is a heartfelt comedy about a devoted father who goes to extreme lengths to protect his daughter, who is the last surviving zombie on Earth. Jo Jung Suk stars as Jung Hwan, a loving father who secretly attempts to train his zombie daughter Soo Ah (Choi Yu Ri). The cast also includes Cho Yeo Jeong, Lee Jung Eun, and Yoon Kyung Ho.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “My Daughter Is a Zombie”!
