1. “Mary Kills People”
Mary Kills People premieres on August 1 on MBC. This Korean adaptation of the Canadian series stars Woo Sojung, an ER doctor who secretly assists terminally ill patients in ending their lives. As her secret operation grows, the risk of discovery intensifies. The show will Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00 PM KST on TVing.
2. “My Lovely Journey”
My Lovely Journey starts airing on August 2 on Channel A. Starring Gong Seungyeon as former idol Kang Yeoreum, the K-Drama follows her transformation into a travel journalist who helps others find healing while rediscovering herself. The series is set to air on weekends at 9:20 PM KST.
3. “The Tyrant’s Chef”
The Tyrant’s Chef (also known as Bon Appétit, Your Majesty) will premiere on August 23 on tvN and stream weekly on Netflix. Girls’ Generation‘s Yoona plays Yeon Jiyoung, a French-trained chef who wins a major culinary competition and suddenly time-travels to the Joseon era. There, she ends up as the royal chef for King Lee Heon, a food-obsessed tyrant played by Lee Chae Min.
4. “Beyond The Bar”
Beyond The Bar premieres on August 2 on JTBC, with Netflix releasing two episodes weekly. This legal-themed show follows rookie lawyer Kang Hyomin as she joins a top law firm and works under cold, demanding mentor Seok Hoon (played by Lee Jinwook).
