Upcoming superhero drama “Twelve” has unveiled a striking new character poster and stills of Lee Joo Bin!
Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels living in the human world in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns.
Lee Joo Bin stars as Mir, the angel representing the dragon. Gifted with the ability to foresee danger through prophetic dreams, Mir chose to live in solitude, distancing herself to shield the other angels. Furthermore, her powers have been sealed ever since a battle with evil spirits thousands of years ago.
Sharing her thoughts on the role, Lee Joo Bin said, “I was drawn to the story’s traditional and fantastical elements. It felt uniquely Korean in a way that made it especially compelling.”
She added, “Among all the animals, the dragon is the only one that doesn’t exist in real life, which made it especially difficult to portray. I focused on channeling that strong sense of mystical quality through my gaze.”
The newly released poster visually captures Mir’s identity and symbolism. It features the Chinese character for “dragon,” layered with a scale-like pattern reminiscent of dragon skin.
As the dragon angel whose powers remain sealed, intrigue grows around the secrets Mir holds—and how her presence might shape the battle ahead.
“Twelve” will premiere on August 23.
