JTBC’s upcoming drama “The Nice Guy” has unveiled new stills capturing the chaotic daily life of gangster Lee Dong Wook.
“The Nice Guy” is a noir drama that follows Park Seok Chul (Lee Dong Wook), the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family with an unexpectedly pure heart, and his first love Kang Mi Young (Lee Sung Kyung), a woman who dreams of becoming a singer.
The newly released photos offer a glimpse into Park Seok Chul’s seemingly ordinary yet eventful life. In one photo, he looks bored and uninterested, in stark contrast to his underlings who are filled with fierce determination. Having become a gangster against his will, he has simply endured his days with quiet persistence, and his unenthusiastic expression makes viewers even more curious about his story. With previous teasers hinting at his decision to leave the gang, questions are growing about what has led to this turning point.
Another still reveals Park Seok Chul’s intimidating side as he confronts a mysterious man in a deserted alley. Together with his younger sister Park Seok Hee (Ryu Hye Young), he sets out to track down their eldest sister Park Seok Kyung (Oh Na Ra), who left home and vanished.
When they finally find Park Seok Kyung, she looks flustered by their unexpected appearance, as she fears them more than anything else. The scene is made even more intriguing by the contrast between Park Seok Hee, who confidently stands up to an intimidating man, and Park Seok Chul, who calmly tries to mediate the situation. What new challenges await these three siblings?
“The Nice Guy” is set to premiere on July 18 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will air two consecutive episodes every Friday.
