MBC’s upcoming drama “Mary Kills People” has offered a glimpse of a turning point in Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki’s relationship!
A remake of the Canadian series of the same name, “Mary Kills People” stars Lee Bo Young as Woo So Jung, an ER doctor who illegally provides euthanasia to patients with incurable illnesses. Lee Min Ki plays Jo Hyun Woo, a terminal brain tumor patient with no remaining treatment options.
In the newly released still, Woo So Jung and Jo Hyun Woo sit across from each other, sharing a meal in a moment that marks a clear departure from their earlier interactions. Jo Hyun Woo, previously cold and expressionless due to the weight of his condition, breaks into a rare smile—prompting a gentle smile from Woo So Jung in return. His softened gaze suggests a shift in his emotional state and hints at the comfort he’s beginning to find in her presence.
Why have Woo So Jung and Jo Hyun Woo—who once stood on opposite sides of an emotional standoff—suddenly begun to open up to each other?
The production team commented, “This scene marks an important turning point where Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki’s characters start to lower their guard and share a genuine moment of empathy. Please look forward to how their relationship evolves, and to the powerful performances both actors bring to ‘Mary Kills People.’”
“Mary Kills People” will premiere on August 1 at 10 p.m. KST.
