SBS’s upcoming comedy sports drama “The Winning Try” has unveiled new stills featuring Kim Yo Han and his rugby team members!
“The Winning Try” tells the story of Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang), a former rugby star who falls from grace due to a doping scandal. Years later, he returns to his alma mater as the new coach of its bottom-ranked high school rugby team and leads the underdog squad on a quest to win the National Sports Festival.
Stills featuring the seven members of the long-struggling, last-place rugby team—Kim Yo Han, Kim E Jun, Lee Su Chan, Yoon Jae Chan, Hwang Seong Bin, Woo Min Gyu, and Cho Han Gyeol—have been released, drawing significant attention.
Kim Yo Han transforms into Yoon Sung Joon, the by the book captain of the Hanyang Physical Education High School rugby team, showing a dependable leader’s presence on the field. Kim E Jun plays Oh Young Gwang, the vice captain who dreams of leaving the team to become a civil servant. Lee Su Chan takes on the role of So Myung Woo, a content fanatic who puts filming ahead of rugby.
Yoon Jae Chan plays Do Hyung Sik, the so-called “king of sudden outbursts.” Hwang Seong Bin appears as Kim Joo Yang, a character with the build of a bull but with a surprisingly sensitive side. Woo Min Gyu transforms into Pyo Seon Ho, a food lover currently in a bulking phase, and Cho Han Gyeol plays Kang Tae Poong, the bold youngest member of the team.
Together, the seven members of the rugby team are ready to hit the field, each armed with undeniable charm.
Newly released stills show the rugby team in their early days, sparking curiosity. The images tease an upcoming charm showdown, drawing attention. Yoon Sung Joon is seen at the center of the field, catching the eye with his squared shoulders and firm muscles built through training, radiating warmth.
Alongside Yoon Sung Joon, who gives off the reliable presence of a team captain with his strong visuals, new images of fellow high school senior rugby team members Oh Young Gwang and So Myung Woo have also been released.
Oh Young Gwang is shown studying hard on the bench during a game, but despite his serious appearance, he continues to rack up wrong answers, adding a comedic twist. Meanwhile, So Myung Woo draws laughs as he grabs a camera instead of a rugby ball during the match, clearly giving off attention-seeking vibes.
Notably, Yoon Sung Joon, Oh Young Gwang, and So Myung Woo, all high school senior classmates, are set to showcase a close-knit friendship strengthened through constant bickering and bonding.
Meanwhile, the high school junior members of the rugby team also bring laughs with their distinct personalities. Do Hyung Sik is unpredictable, like a stray rugby ball, never knowing when he might explode. Kim Joo Yang stands out with a physique and piercing gaze that seem beyond high school level. Pyo Seon Ho is spotted crouching on the field, frantically devouring bread.
Lastly, Kang Tae Poong, though just a high school sophomore, draws attention with a boldness beyond his age.
With Kim Yo Han at the forefront, rising stars Kim E Jun, Lee Su Chan, Yoon Jae Chan, Hwang Seong Bin, Woo Min Gyu, and Cho Han Gyeol, all bringing solid acting skills and fresh charm, come together to portray the many faces of youth. Anticipation is growing for the wild and hilarious chemistry they are set to create by diving headfirst into their roles.
