HYBE‘s global girl group KATSEYE is facing pushback from netizens yet again after the release of their upcoming single’s teaser.
On June 19, KST, the group released the second teaser for “Gabriela,” their upcoming song. The video featured all six members looking stunning in telenovela-inspired looks, spiking the anticipation of fans.
The final frame of the teaser, however, was the real shocker, as it revealed Hollywood actress Jessica Alba‘s cameo in the music video.
Though initially, many were excited for this unexpected crossover, criticism surfaced quickly after fans pointed out Jessica Alba’s pro-Zionist views. Netizens and even fans expressed their deep disappointment with KATSEYE’s continued association with public figures who are admittedly anti-Palestine, especially given the implied pro-Palestine views of some of the members.

However, some argued that the specific outrage over Jessica Alba’s cameo was superficial, given the deep ties between the group and the controversial pro-Zionism music mogul, Scooter Braun.

Regardless, the appearance has sparked calls for a boycott of the music video, while some are pushing for an overall financial boycott of HYBE.
