ITZY, NMIXX, and more groups were mentioned.
A recent online post has drawn attention for its sharp critique of JYP Entertainment, with many netizens expressing frustration over the continued underperformance of the company’s artists on domestic music charts.
Despite being one of the top agencies in K-pop, JYP’s recent releases have failed to secure spots in the Top 100, prompting questions about the label’s musical direction and promotional strategies.

While groups from other agencies continue to chart long after their songs have been released, JYP artists are struggling to even make it onto the charts. Fans and netizens alike are growing concerned, especially considering the popularity of members in groups like ITZY and NMIXX. Despite having strong visuals and performance skills, both groups have been unable to secure viral hits or long-term chart presence.
TWICE‘s most recent release also failed to impress with its domestic performance.

Many are pointing to the quality and style of the music itself as a possible reason for the lackluster results. Comments argue that the songs feel outdated or disconnected from current trends.

JYP really seems to have fallen behind.

Others have criticized JYP’s overall approach to promotions and debut strategies, citing Day6 as a key example. The band, which initially debuted through street performances rather than traditional broadcast music shows, was seen as receiving limited exposure early on. Some even say the agency lacks the kind of aggressive promotion seen from competitors.

- “But what’s really puzzling is that ITZY has Yuna, Ryujin, Yeji… and NMIXX has members like Sullyoon and Haewon, yet they’re still not blowing up. It really must be the songs that are the biggest issue.”
- “Their songs don’t sound current, they feel kind of outdated, if that makes sense?”
- “The music is behind the times, but the promotions and producing are also seriously lacking. They didn’t even give Day6 a proper debut and just had them perform in Hongdae lol. And they didn’t promote ‘Congratulations’ on music shows either. That was a really JYP move.”
- “The last JYP song that had real public appeal was Nayeon’s ‘POP!’ back in 2022. Even Day6’s songs that charted were all older songs making a comeback.”
- “The public doesn’t have any expectations from JYP anymore. No one even listens unless it goes mega-viral. Realistically, they don’t even get a chance.”
- “I think it’s because they’re the only ones not using chart manipulation tactics lol. Park Jinyoung even said in an old interview that he doesn’t do sajaegi.”
Netizens feel as though public interest in the company’s music has declined, and unless a breakthrough hit emerges, JYP may continue to struggle to reclaim its former chart dominance.
