Disney+’s upcoming drama “Tempest” has revealed its premiere date with the release of its first poster!
On July 23, Walt Disney Company Korea announced that the drama will premiere on September 10.
“Tempest” follows Moon Ju (Jun Ji Hyun), a diplomat and former UN ambassador who has built an international reputation, as she teams up with San Ho (Kang Dong Won), a special agent of unknown nationality, to uncover the hidden truth behind a massive incident that threatens the future of the Korean Peninsula.
In addition to Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won, the cast includes John Cho, Lee Mi Sook, Park Hae Joon, Kim Hae Sook, Yoo Jae Myung, Oh Jung Se, Lee Sang Hee, Joo Jong Hyuk, and Won Ji An.
The project will be co-directed by Kim Hee Won, known for the dramas “Queen of Tears” and “Vincenzo,” and Heo Myeong Haeng, who earned critical acclaim for his work on action films such as “The Roundup: Punishment” and “Badland Hunters.” The screenplay is written by Jeong Seo Kyeong, whose credits include the film “Decision to Leave” and the drama “Little Women.”
Alongside the premiere date announcement, the official poster was also revealed. The striking visuals of Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won stand out through a bold contrast of red and black-and-white tones, paired with unique textures and symbolic objects. As suggested by the English title, “Tempest,” the series teases an unpredictable spy romance, with the two characters leaning on each other as they navigate a whirlwind of unexpected events.
With a total of nine episodes, “Tempest” will debut on Disney+ with three episodes on September 10, followed by two new episodes released each week starting September 10.
