He looks terrifying.
A handsome star underwent a jaw-dropping transformation for a new project. His appearance changed so much for his role that even his most die-hard fans might have trouble recognizing him.

Jackson Yee (also known as Yi Yangqianxi) is a Chinese actor, singer, and member of the boy group TFBoys. He has starred in TV series such as The Longest Day in Chang’an and films, including Full River Red and Big World.

Yee stars in Resurrection, a Chinese science fiction drama film written and directed by Bi Gan. It takes place in a future where most humans can no longer dream–but a monster (played by Yee) can. The film will be theatrically released in China on November 22.

Yee plays five different roles in Resurrection, but the monster is by far the boldest. To play this character, Yee completely abandoned his idol image and transformed into a bald, nightmarish creature.

He changed his face, but also the way he moves, by undergoing physical training that reportedly caused him to suffer from strained muscles during (and after) filming.
