At the “4th Blue Dragon Series Awards,” Netflix‘s mega-hit K-Drama When Life Gives You Tangerines won big, including female lead IU taking home the “Best Actress” award.

Taking the stage to accept her award, the vocalist-actress delivered an emotional speech, noting, “When Life Gives You Tangerines is the most meaningful and proudest work of my life,” expressing deep affection for the series.
From the moment I first received the offer for When Life Gives You Tangerines, and then throughout the shoot, as well as while waiting for it to air and when it finally did… In fact, even now and for the rest of my life, this project will remain one of the most treasured experiences of my life. It was such an honor and such a joy to be able to work with the Tangerines team.
Although I can’t name everyone individually, I would like to thank the scriptwriter Lim Sang Choon and director Kim Won Seok, alongside every single cast and crew member whose names appear in the end credits. Thanks to all of you, I think I was able to truly let loose and have the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.
Thank you for entrusting me with the role of Aesun, the smartest, most talkative, and the loveliest woman to have been. Thank you so much to all the fans as well.

As she went on to thank the production team, actor Park Bo Gum cheered IU on as her most supportive co-star, channeling his inner Yang Gwan Sik all over again. Spotted in the audience, Park Bo Gum had the biggest grin on his face while filming IU’s huge accomplishment—like a devoted fansite master!
This moment once again highlighted the unbreakable bond between the two stars, making it obvious why When Life Gives You Tangerines saw the level of success that it did. The K-Drama fans were touched to see the Ae Sun x Gwan Sik couple’s on-screen chemistry continuing off-screen as well.
