During the press showcase for ILLIT’s 3rd mini album “Bomb“, held on June 16 at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul, the rising girl group performed their title track “Do the Dance (빌려온 고양이)” and shared insights into their preparation process.
Minju drew attention for her candid confession about the effort she put into vocal training. “I practiced so much I could taste blood in my throat,” she said. “I wanted to improve my singing skills, so I focused heavily on vocal fundamentals. Our producer gave me feedback that my pitch control had become much more stable, and that really made me happy.”

Groupmate Iroha also chimed in, highlighting the team’s passion, “We really wanted to showcase ILLIT’s identity to the public. The choreography this time was quite difficult, but we encouraged each other and worked hard together.”
“Bomb” marks a thematic shift for ILLIT. While their first two mini albums centered around the narrative of “I,” this third release explores the girls’ growing relationships with others—ushering in a new phase focused on interaction and emotional connection.

Their title track “Do the Dance” reflects this dynamic energy, telling the story of a nerve-racking first date. Despite the overwhelming thoughts in her head, the protagonist confidently says, “Let’s dance together,” showcasing ILLIT’s signature bold charm. The song features catchy hooks and addictive beats that align with the group’s energetic concept.
The mini album officially dropped on major streaming platforms at 6 PM (KST) on June 16.
