Netizens are loving its first episode!
tvN’s latest Monday-Tuesday series Head Over Heels is off to a strong start, recording impressive viewership numbers for its premiere episode.
According to Nielsen Korea, the K-Drama’s first broadcast on June 23 achieved a nationwide rating of 4.3 percent, making it the most-watched program in its time slot across all channels, including major public broadcasters.
Head Over Heels — starring Cho Yi Hyun and Chu Young Woo — follows the story of Park Seong Ah, a high school student living a secret double life as the mysterious and highly skilled shaman “Cheonji Seonnyeo.” While she longs to live a normal life like her peers, everything changes when a dream warning her of an upside-down man becomes reality, ushering in the arrival of Bae Gyunwoo, a new transfer student and her exact type.
However, in shamanic belief, seeing someone upside down is a sign of death. Seong Ah, aware of the danger Gyunwoo is in, becomes determined to protect him from the misfortune that surrounds him. But things aren’t easy. Gyunwoo is closed-off and skeptical, having been hurt in the past by shamans who claimed they could save him. Seong Ah can’t bring herself to reveal her true identity, even as her feelings grow.
The episode builds tension through a series of supernatural encounters, culminating in a near-death experience involving a vengeful water spirit. Seong Ah tries to intervene, but her good intentions lead to a misunderstanding, ending the premiere on a dramatic cliffhanger.
With its mix of fantasy, fate, and first love, Head Over Heels has sparked curiosity among viewers. The question now is whether Park Seong Ah can overcome the odds and save the boy who might be fated to die.
Episode 2 airs tonight at 8:50 PM KST, make sure to not miss out!
