tvN’s upcoming drama “Shin’s Project” has shared a glimpse of its first script reading session!
“Shin’s Project” is a comedy that follows the story of Mr. Shin, a man who takes it upon himself to mediate conflicts and assist people in seemingly unwinnable situations.
The script reading brought together director Shin Kyung Soo, writer Ban Ki Ri, and the cast, including Han Suk Kyu, Bae Hyeon Seong, and Lee Re.
Han Suk Kyu plays Mr. Shin, a chicken restaurant owner who rushes to any conflict, resolves incidents, and delivers justice as a neighborhood hero. With an articulate tone and great sense of humor, he perfectly embodies an ordinary local restaurant owner, but during negotiations, he transforms into a negotiator with mysterious secrets and abilities, revealing a surprising charm.
Meanwhile, Bae Hyeon Seong, who plays Jo Philip, a rookie judge who suddenly becomes a hire brought in through connections at a chicken restaurant, drew attention for his realistic portrayal of a character facing confusion and embarrassment in an unexpected situation. His transformation, as he trades a judge’s robe for an apron, sparks curiosity.
In addition, Lee Re, who plays Lee Si On, a Gen Z delivery worker with a tangy charm, energized the set with her realistic and lively reactions. Showing the boldness and energy of a top-performing part-time worker who gets things done with ease, she brings a lovable charm to the character of Lee Si On.
Above all, the chemistry among the three actors shone throughout the reading. Playing a restaurant owner and part-time employees, they captured the nuances of their characters while showing seamless teamwork. Each exchange of dialogue delivered lively, back-and-forth banter, building anticipation for the premiere of the series.
The production team said, “We want to show how exhilarating and funny the process of resolving conflicts through conversation can be. We are working with Han Suk Kyu, Bae Hyeon Seong, Lee Re, and the rest of the cast to make viewers regulars of Mr. Shin.
