The cast of the tvN drama “Our Unwritten Seoul” recently participated in a photo shoot with the fashion magazine ELLE Korea.
“Our Unwritten Seoul” tells the story of two twin sisters with polar-opposite personalities who lead completely different lives. Park Bo Young plays identical twins Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae, who look alike but are different in every other way.
After the shoot, Park Bo Young and Jinyoung sat down for an interview. Park Bo Young was asked how similar she is to the roles of Mi Ji and Mi Rae. She replied, “I wish I had more of Mi Ji’s bold and cheerful personality, but these days, I think I’m becoming more like Mi Rae—quiet and calm.”
Regarding their on-screen chemistry, Jinyoung explained that their chemistry felt good right from the beginning because Park Bo Young’s unique energy naturally influenced the way he reacted.
When asked whether he faced any difficulties portraying Ho Su, a character who lives with hearing issues and trauma related to his mother, Jinyoung replied, “I thought a lot about how I could portray it realistically. Everyone has at least one wound—some pain they can’t speak about, something they want to hide. Ho Su’s pain was just expressed a little more vividly and intensely, but when acting, I tried to understand it as a normal human emotion.”
Regarding a line from the drama that left a deep impression, Park Bo Young chose her character’s grandmother’s words: “Anything you do to survive is courageous.” Jinyoung chose a line that Han Se Jin’s (Ryu Kyung Soo’s) grandfather says to Se Jin, “Why are you trying to go all the way to the last stop? If you want to get off, you can.” He added, “It felt like it was saying the process is also important, which deeply resonated with me.”
