Based on a bestselling Japanese novel by Maha Harada, “My Lovely Journey” follows Kang Yeo Reum (Gong Seung Yeon), a former idol-turned-travel reporter who has never been the center of attention in her life. As she takes on travel assignments on behalf of others, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, coming to understand the true meaning of success and life.
As the premiere approaches, stunning location stills set against the scenic backdrops of Buyeo, Pohang, and Jinju have been unveiled, sparking viewers’ desire to travel.
The series, already generating buzz for its fresh, intriguing concept of “proxy travel,” promises breathtaking cinematography that showcases spectacular landscapes in South Korea and abroad. The newly released stills further build anticipation, offering a visual feast that signals the arrival of a truly eye-catching drama.
The stills highlight the drama’s central appeal—its captivating scenery, which instantly draws the viewer’s attention. Kang Yeo Reum is seen strolling through picturesque, painting-like landscapes, evoking a sense of emotional healing that gently touches the heart.
One scene shows her walking along a verdant forest path, evoking the thrill of stepping into the heart of nature. Another captures her in a wide-open field and among yellow flower beds, radiating a sense of peace and tranquility.
In a lush green forest, Yeo Reum is seen holding a camera and gazing into the distance, suggesting her evolving perspective through the lens of proxy travel. Elsewhere, Oh Sang Sik (Yoo Joon Sang) is seen standing with someone, overlooking a sweeping view of the open sea and a quaint village below. The scene heightens curiosity about the stories that may unfold in each travel destination.
The drama prominently features Buyeo, Pohang, and Jinju—regions that embody the cultural and natural richness of South Korea. In Buyeo, viewers will explore historic and scenic locations such as the Busosanseong forest trail, Muryangsa Temple and Muryang Village, the Baekma River, and the Baekje Cultural Land, all of which reflect the area’s deep history and natural charm.
In Pohang, expansive ocean views and emotionally resonant sites—including the Railroad Forest, Yeongildae Beach, Songdo Beach, Guryongpo Mural Village, and the Yeonorang Park—are expected to captivate viewers.
In Jinju, a variety of locations that blend historical significance with beautiful natural surroundings will further enrich the emotional depth of the drama. These include Sung Old House, Worasan Mountain, Gangju Pond, Namgaram Park, Mulbitnaru Rest Area, Seongjeonam, Jinjuseong Fortress, and Seokryu Park.
By featuring a diverse range of scenic destinations across South Korea, the drama aims to fully capture the charm of “proxy travel.” It promises to leave a lasting impression as a visually stunning series that delights the senses and offers a true feast for the eyes.
The production team stated, “We did not simply use the beautiful scenery of each location as a backdrop. We intentionally connected the unique stories and significance of each destination to the emotional journey of the characters.”
They added, “Watching Kang Yeo Reum’s evolving emotions and growth at each travel spot will make the experience even more engaging. With visuals that bring healing through their beauty, and hidden stories from each location woven into the narrative, the drama is set to deliver a deeply moving experience.
