The Bias List is a K-pop blog that also covers a fair amount of J-pop. But just like most music fans, I enjoy tracks from all around the world. So, I thought I’d start a monthly round-up of some of the non-K-pop songs that have caught my ear. No ratings — just highlights!

Addison Rae – Fame Is A Gun
It took me a bit to come around to this and I’m still not entirely sold on the Addison hype, but I appreciate the icy, early-2000’s Annie homage in this track. She needs to release more uptempo material.
Agnes – Balenciaga Covered Eyes
Her last album was fantastic so this has a lot to live up to. Its disco-house sound feels like a natural extension.
Amaarae – S.M.O.
The production on this is so hypnotic.
Andy Bell – Dance For Mercy
The Erasure frontman released his first solo album in many years and it’s super strong. This song is my standout. It’s a mega banger with a killer chorus.
Beks – I Knew A Girl
Excellent electropop with some addictive melodic turns.
Benjamin – Lokki
The thing is, Benjamin always releases bangers. It’s amazing how every single song is nothing short of spectacular. This is yet another to add to the list.
Benson Boone – Mr Electric Blue
I’m as surprised as anyone to find a Benson Boone song in my round-up, but I’m a sucker for this energetic pomp rock style. Easily his best single.
Betty Who – Sweat
She continues her excellent run of 80’s synthpop anthems.
Blusher – Last Man Standing
A bit more straightforward pop than their usual fare but underpinned by an insistent dance beat.
Caroline Kingsbury – Shock Treatment
The 80’s are well and truly back with this authentic re-creation. The chorus goes off.
Charlotte Sands – Hush
A pulsing blend of rock and electronic elements.
Chloe Jane – Oopsie Daisy
A bit of recession pop redux that gets the vibe totally right.
Comanavago – Say Less
I discovered this band recently and their newest album Club Morpheus has my highest possible recommendation. Their music is so much fun. It reminds me of early Scissor Sisters. This song is more EDM than the funkier disco tracks that make up the bulk of the project, but it’s the newest single so it gets the spotlight here. Please please please check out songs like Palm Of Your Hand and Jamie, though! Seriously, this is one of the strongest albums I’ve heard in years.
Deco – Is It All In My Head?
An extremely fun mix of indie rock and dance music.
DE’WAYNE – Sundays
He’s gone full-on Springsteen synth rock here and released what might be his best song yet.
Donkeyboy – Galactical Love
I was such a huge fan of this band during their peak and it’s so exciting to have them back with music that feels like a natural extension of their early-2010’s era.
