“I hope people will respect boundaries…”
Recently, a fan’s video call with NCT‘s Mark Lee has sparked anger amongst fans.

Mark recently released his first solo album The First Fruit, and has since been promoting in various ways, including through online video calls.
Fans usually love seeing interactions with Mark over video calls, as the idol’s earnest yet sometimes awkward nature creates both hilarious and heartfelt moments. His ability to communicate in multiple languages also makes the calls more accessible to a larger audience.
A clip currently circulating online shows Mark speaking with a fan who asks the idol to show her his muscles following the release of NCT DREAM’s comeback images and him responding that he doesn’t want to.
Mark explains that the pictures were taken a while ago and that he currently doesn’t look like that because he has lost a lot of weight. The fan then questions Mark, saying, “So you don’t even control your diet?”
After a pause, he responds that he lost a lot of weight due to stomach issues, but promises to show the fan next time.
In addition to anger over the request in general, as Mark is usually more conservative about showing his body, fans were outraged that someone would respond in such a way.
i’m glad mark directly replied “i don’t want to” to yet another request to show his body… we know he’s not comfortable with it and never shows more than necessary yet people keep asking him for that.. stop :/ also him saying ‘no’ should be enough, you don’t need a reason

“so you don’t even like.. control your diet” is an INSANE thing to say and SOOO beyond rude. would you ever say this in a normal conversation?? and saying this to him after he set a firm boundary that you then made him justify?? pic.twitter.com/cmi4izOtQq

When someone say they don’t want to, the first thing that comes up to your head shouldn’t be “why” I hope people will respect boundaries and I hope you stay healthy and get actual rest mark 🙁 https://t.co/CDupcEJqb2

Hopefully, Mark is feeling better these days!
