Six years after her high-profile divorce, an actress who promised her friends that she would never get married again has said “I do” for the second time.
Dong Xuan (also known as Michelle Dong) is a Chinese actress and singer who has starred in a number of television series, including The Young Lawyer Ji Xiaolan (2012) and Secret of the Three Kingdoms (2018). In 2009, Dong began dating Chinese actor Gao Yun Xiang, and the two married in Beijing in 2011 and have one daughter together. Eight years later, they divorced after Gao was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney, Australia.
On March 29, 2018, Gao–who was in Australia to shoot a TV series–and Chinese producer Wang Jing were arrested in Sydney after a woman accused them of sexually assaulting her three days earlier in the Shangri-La Hotel in The Rocks hotel. CCTV showed Wang and the woman kissing inside a Sydney CBD karaoke bar before she accompanied Wang up to his hotel room.
Dong stood by her then-husband, who was acquitted in 2020, by traveling to Australia to be with him and reportedly helping to post his bail, which was set at 14 million yuan (approximately $1.9 million USD). Though netizens called her the “queen of forgiveness” for her actions, Dong said, “I was acting as a mother and a wife at the time — not out of blind loyalty.”
After she and Gao divorced, Dong told her female friends that she would “only date, never marry again,” but that has now changed. At a recent screening for iQIYI’s reality show Her Prime, Dong revealed that she has gotten married again.

Her second husband is reportedly Zhang Wei Yi, an actor who is nine years Dong’s junior. The two have been involved in dating rumors since they co-starred in the 2023 web series The Case Solver 3. Dong and Zhang reportedly had a private wedding ceremony and registered their marriage on June 21, 2025.
