The drama is being directed by one of the industry legends.
According to some recent media reports, Single’s Inferno fame DEX (also known as Kim Jin Young) is gearing up to join the cast of Suzy‘s upcoming K-Drama.

On June 19, KST, some Korean media outlets reported that DEX had been cast in Men of the Harem, a new K-Drama led by Suzy in the role of an Empress named Latil. The reports also claimed that DEX was going to portray one of the concubine characters in the story.

Set in the fictional Tarim Empire, Men of the Harem is a fantasy story based on a webtoon by the same name. The narrative follows Empress Latil as she gets pushed into the throes of power after her father is assassinated, and instead of choosing a man as her royal consort, she chooses five young male concubines to join her harem to protect her throne. The drama will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, the name behind K-Drama’s most iconic creations, such as Descendants of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Mr. Sunshine, and Sweet Home.
Though joining the cast of such a highly anticipated K-Drama must be a huge career boost for DEX, his agency has denied the reports stating so. On June 19, kth studio confirmed to Xports News that the reports of DEX appearing in Men of the Harem were groundless.
The reports about DEX starring in the new drama, Men of the Harem, are not true.

kth studio’s statement came as a disappointment to fans whose expectations were already teased with the earlier news reports. However, DEX, who already made his acting debut in 2023 with the movie Tarot, is set to make his K-Drama debut in the upcoming ENA drama The Defects. It is slated to premiere this July.
