Netizens were divided.
Recently, BTS’s J-Hope captured the attention of global fans with his performance on Mnet’s M Countdown.

This stage was also his first “Killin’ It Girl (Solo Version)” performance on a music show, which went viral on online community boards for his amazing live vocals.

This is J-Hope. If you want to perform with an ear mic, then your live skills should be at least this level.
Most of the comments under the video were about his vocals being so good that many wondered if it was really live.
- “Is it even possible to dance with live vocals like that? Crazy! So f*cking talented. We can always trust J-Hope’s live.”
- “It’s crazy, you can hear his breathing through the mic…”
- “It’s crazy to see him doing the choreography from start to finish with live vocals.”
However, some netizens were shocked that fans couldn’t tell the difference between live vocals and live AR.

- “It’s interesting that people think this is all live when live AR is being played really loudly.”
- “This is why we need to get rid of live AR. The transmitted sound is different, but fans can’t tell the difference and think it’s live. You can’t hear him breathing in between…even singers who stand just standing straight can’t do that. Please get your facts straight before saying something.”
- “I just watched the cuts, but why does it feel like live AR? The comments are saying that they can hear him breathing and that it’s different from the track, but if it was pre-recorded, then it’s possible. I watched the full version too, and if it were all live, the sound would be different, but it sounds recorded. I mean, I can understand seeing how difficult the choreography is.”
- “Because it is! They turn on the live AR loudly while he sings some parts live…that’s why it looks like the whole thing is live. Tell him to do the encore stage. It’s hilarious seeing people saying his live skills are crazy when they can’t tell the difference.”
