Even as these recaps become mostly copy-and-paste from wikipedia?
I always commit to seeing things through until the end, but that doesn’t mean I have to do a great job seeing them through! The truth is, I’ve mostly stopped watching this series in favor of simply familiarizing myself with highlights — probably similar to what most of you are doing with this very post!
This week’s episode is another ranking results show, but we’ll get to that later. First, I want to talk about survival series formats. I recently finished Universe League and absolutely loved that show. The format felt fresh, the original songs were actually good, and of course it resulted in a fantastic idol group (AHOF). In the distant past, I was a big fan of the formats for K-pop Star and the underrated The Fan, which were both fast-moving and personable enough to keep attention. LOUD was good, too. I think I like when the judges are also mentors who compete with each other.
Throughout this Boys II Planet experience, I’ve learned that I just don’t like the BP/Produce/MNET format very much. It’s long-winded, somewhat impersonal, very predictable and not very fun. And absent of compelling contestants or strong music, this season has felt like a total chore.
Anyways… there are results!!

Wow, that’s quite a jump for Jia Hao! I guess trainees with the name “Hao” do well in this show, huh? The top three remain stagnant and seem all-but guaranteed to debut, while VERIVERY’s Kangmin drops out of the top eight at the moment. Could WEi be the only established boy group to have a member (Kim Junseo) in the eventual debut line-up?
There will be a couple new songs in the finale episode and there were previews this week. “Brat Attitude” sounds as godawful as its title while “Neven Been 2 Heaven” sounds nice.
