MBC’s upcoming drama “Mary Kills People” has unveiled its lineup of powerhouse supporting actors!
“Mary Kills People” follows the story of Woo So Jung (Lee Bo Young), an ER doctor who illegally assists terminally ill patients with euthanasia, and a detective who tracks her down. Lee Min Ki plays Jo Hyun Woo, a terminal cancer patient with no remaining treatment options.
Bek Hyunjin plays Goo Kwang Chul, a mysterious businessman who hides his secrets thoroughly. While he appears to be a polished financial professional who graduated from a top university and runs a VIP investment firm specializing in stocks and asset management, in reality, he is a drug dealer manufacturing and distributing narcotics.
Kwon Hae Hyo takes on the role of Father Yang, the kind-hearted director of a free clinic. Though deeply compassionate as a religious figure, he often falls short when it comes to managing the hospital or the orphanage. Despite Woo So Jung’s cold demeanor, he recognizes her genuine care for patients and becomes her ally.
Kim Tae Woo heightens the suspense as Police Commissioner Ahn Tae Sung, a ruthless capitalist who values money above loyalty or morality. He secretly orders an investigation into Woo So Jung and will stop at nothing to have her arrested.
Seo Young Hee portrays Ryu Yi Soo, a skilled lawyer and Woo So Jung’s neighbor. As a working mom herself, Yi Soo empathizes with Woo So Jung, who is raising her niece Jae Yeon (Kim Sang Ji). The two women support each other, often helping care for each other’s children when needed.
“Mary Kills People” is set to premiere on August 1 at 10 p.m. KST.
