On July 24, “BOYS II PLANET K” aired its second episode, with the second episode of “BOYS II PLANET C” set to follow on July 25. “BOYS II PLANET K” and “BOYS II PLANET C” were originally intended to air as two separate audition programs, with each show debuting its own boy group. We feel personally attacked. Koreaboo 14 hours ago BTS‘s RM spent the majority of his time out of the spotlight after wrapping promotions for his solo album Indigo, released in December 2022. Through his Instagram updates, ARMYs can see he has been working on music in his studio, enjoying time with friends and family, and generally “Namjooning.” BTS’s RM traveling to his “2023 FESTA” appearance | @rkive/Instagram BTS’s leader is known for keeping it real with fans and often opening up about his emotions and struggles. In his Weverse post to fans ahead of BTS’s 10th anniversary, he got real…
iKON’s Jay made his solo debut back in 2023 with a smooth R&B sound that was high on style but low on the kind of addictive melodies that usually make my ears perk up. He’s set to release a new album next week, and prior to that he’s dropped pre-release track We Can’t Explain. This one’s a bit boppier, offering a laidback bounce alongside tropical synths. However, the song remains quite subdued even as it builds to its chorus. Then, the instrumental flips completely, chopped and augmented to form an unusual centerpiece that guts the song open for parts. This…
ASC2NT debuted last year and caught my attention with their strong vocals. Neither of their songs so far have fully taken advantage of this asset, but I can tell the group could do great things with the right material. New single Don’t Move gets closer to fulfilling that potential, offering an addictive electro thump. We’ve heard this style of beat-drop chorus many times before, but Don’t Move is an above average example of the form. For this structure to work, the verses must be incredibly thrilling to make up for the emptiness of the chorus. ASC2NT take care of this…
Starship Entertainment is having a busy year, first debuting new girl group KiiiKiii and now new boy group IDID. IDID won’t have their official debut until September, but like so many other rookies they’re testing the waters with a pre-debut track. It’s a horrible feeling to be very excited about something only to have that excitement lessened with each new piece of information you learn about it. From the genre description to production credits to miniscule running time, each droplet of info about Step It Up made me more skeptical of a project I think has so much potential. With…
