It almost ended her entertainment career.
One actress will “never forget” the scandal that severely damaged her public image and nearly ended her career. Six years later, she’s opening up about the lasting impact it has had on her life.

Jacqueline Wong is a Hong Kong actress, TV host, and beauty pageant titleholder who was first runner-up in Miss Hong Kong 2012. In 2019, she made headlines for a cheating scandal with singer-actor Andy Hui, who was married to Cantopop star Sammi Cheng at the time. On April 16, 2019, a video of Wong and Hui taken by a taxi’s camera went public. Hui made a public apology to his then-wife, stating that he was drunk at the time, but his intoxication didn’t excuse the behavior.

Due to the scandal, Wong’s scenes were cut from the 2020 series Forensic Heroes IV, and her agency at the time, TVB, suspended her other activities. The backlash was so severe that Wong ended up taking a four-year-long hiatus, returning to the entertainment industry in 2023 as a singer.

Recently, Wong talked about her song “The Beauty Of Seeing Through The World,” which she wrote about the scandal. During an interview, she told Hong Kong media that she poured all her feelings into her music and that she had accepted that the scandal is part of her past.
I’ll never forget it. This incident has already become part of my life experience. It really happened, so there’s no need to run from it or fear people bringing it up. That’s just life. If you make a mistake, you have to take responsibility. I’ve accepted that it’s part of my past.

Wong is now married to drummer Lai Man Wang, whom she married on October 27, 2023.
