Other victims came forward after his detention.
Screenwriter, director, actor, movie presenter, and businessman Zheng Jifeng has been formally arrested on child molestation charges.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Zheng was under investigation after rehearsals for his latest film. According to reports, Zheng molested several underage women under the guise of guiding dance moves and acting coaching. Once parents became aware of the situation, the parents of at least three girls reported it to the police.
He was taken into custody the same day as the reports were made. Afterwards, more alleged victims came forward, including several actresses.

One victim, Ms. Wang, shared that at the age of 13, she was sexually harassed and molested by Zheng Jifeng under the guise of filming. She added that nearly all seven women in the film crew had been kissed by him, with the youngest victim only 12 years old. Ms. Wang also claimed that Zheng Jifeng once lured her to a hotel on the grounds of changing her role, but she was able to escape thanks to a timely phone call.
Jifeng is known for appearing in the 2016 film Mermaid, which, upon release, became the third highest-grossing film of all time. Among his other pursuits, Zheng directed the 2019 film The Legend Of Pig Warrior, a family film that features lessons to children on how to avoid bad people.

Child molestation carries a charge of up to five years, which can increase based on the number of victims and other circumstances.
