Won Jin Ah and Choi Young Joon will share a complex and intriguing dynamic in ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects”!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge.
The newly released stills capture the layered emotions and complex narrative between Kim Ah Hyun (Won Jin Ah) and Woo Tae Sik (Choi Young Joon).
Won Jin Ah plays Kim Ah Hyun, a girl who was “returned” after being adopted but managed to survive against all odds. Choi Young Joon portrays Woo Tae Sik, a subordinate of an illegal adoption trafficking ring who secretly rescues and protects the children who have been returned. The two become each other’s pillars of support as they struggle to survive in a broken system.
In the stills, Ah Hyun and Tae Sik are seen having a serious conversation in a dark, tense atmosphere. Beyond a simple survivor and protector relationship, there is a web of trust, pain, and solidarity connecting them.
After being saved by Tae Sik, Ah Hyun endures harsh training and eventually grows into the leader and spiritual anchor of the surviving children. However, as she wages a fierce battle for revenge and survival, she comes face-to-face with an unexpected truth. The shocking image of Tae Sik pointing a gun at Ah Hyun amplifies the drama’s tension. Why would Tae Sik, who has always guided and protected these abandoned children, turn his gun on Ah Hyun?
“The Defects” is set to premiere on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
