Several prison sentences have been handed out.
BELIFT LAB, the agency behind rising 5th generation girl group ILLIT, has taken firm legal action against multiple individuals who targeted the group with sexual harassment and manipulated content.
The company confirmed on June 30 that suspects involved in posting sexually offensive material have been identified and formally handed over to prosecutors. Meanwhile, those behind the creation of deepfake videos have already received prison sentences.
In a public statement shared on Weverse, BELIFT LAB assured fans that they have been acting decisively against online abusers. The company revealed that it regularly files legal complaints against malicious activity targeting the group and has taken particular measures against those responsible for sexual insults and explicit fake videos.
As for those who created deepfake content using ILLIT’s likeness, BELIFT LAB noted that they had already been sentenced to prison. The agency emphasized that anonymity on platforms like Telegram is not enough to escape accountability
The identities and charges of the suspects have already been confirmed and they have been referred to the prosecution. Even if anonymous platforms like Telegram are used, they can still be tracked down through international judicial cooperation. We want to make it clear once again that there will be no settlements or leniency in response to illegal acts, and that we are pursuing every possible legal action.

Moving forward, the company said it would continue to monitor online spaces and take severe action based on both internal data and fan reports. The company stated that they would “do everything [they] can to ensure that the artists can continue their activities in a healthy and safe environment.”
