SBS’s new idol survival show “B:MY BOYZ” has wrapped up its first official round of competition!
“B:MY BOYZ” is a new boy group survival show in which top idols participate directly in choosing which contestants (known as “B:GINNERS”) make the final debut lineup.
The first official round of competition was a “concept battle” in which the contestants split up into five teams to cover various hit songs by the show’s first “top idol”: NCT.
The contestants that survive the first round of eliminations and make it to the second round will be determined 30 percent by the votes of the live studio audience, 50 percent by online votes on my1pick, and 20 percent by online votes on SBS’s official website.
However, the NCT members who made a special appearance on the show—Johnny, Jungwoo, Ten, and Xiaojun—were able to exempt several contestants from elimination. At the end of the round, the four NCT members were asked to choose one team as their “Top Pick,” allowing all the members of the chosen team to automatically advance to the next round.
Outside of the “Top Pick” team, the four NCT members were also asked to pick one contestants from each of the other teams to similarly save from elimination.
The five NCT songs covered by the contestants were NCT U’s “Baggy Jeans,” NCT 127’s “Fact Check,” WayV’s “Love Talk,” NCT U’s “90’s Love,” and NCT 127’s “Kick It.”

“90’s Love” (Ikuto, Park Junhyeok, Kang Junseong, Ai, Jang Huigwang, Haruto)
“Kick It” (Hiroto, Seo Junhyeok, Lee Yunsung, Hwang Heewoo, William)

At the end of the round, the four NCT members chose the “Fact Check” team as their Top Pick—meaning that Hyo, Kim Jeonghoon, Park Sechan, Kai, Lim Jihwan, and Li Zhiwei are all exempt from elimination and will be advancing to the second round.
The NCT members will also be choosing one “Top Pick B:GINNER” from each of the other teams. To find out who they choose, tune in to the third episode of “B:MY BOYZ” on July 5 at 5:20 p.m. KST!
