According to @anxna52, their mother used to work at a chicken restaurant located on the navy base where Park Bo Gum was serving his mandatory military duty. Being a fan of the actor, the mother once paid for his chicken order when he came in.

I know I’m mentioning another celebrity, but Park Bo Gum is truly the real deal. I’d heard he was the “king of good deeds,” but this is from personal experience—when he was serving in the military, my mom worked at the chicken shop on his base. She had been a huge fan of his for a long time, so when he came in to eat, she paid for his meal.

Every time they ran into each other on base, he would run up to her and greet her with all the aegyo. Once, he even took out the trash she was carrying and threw it away for her himself. When she hurt her leg, he was really concerned and brought her all kinds of health-related items to help.
