Actor Kim Soo Hyun has taken further legal action amidst ongoing controversy, filing an additional lawsuit and criminal complaint against Garo Sero Institute operator Kim Se Ui and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The charges are based on allegations of false accusations and the distribution of fabricated evidence.
On June 23, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team at L.K.B & Partners released an official statement confirming that both the actor and his agency, Gold Medalist, had submitted new legal complaints. The statement clarified that these charges stem from false claims made during a press conference held by Kim Se Ui earlier this year.
At the press conference on May 7, Kim Se Ui played an audio file — created using AI deep voice technology, according to Kim Soo Hyun’s side — claiming it was a recording of Kim Sae Ron. According to him, the file proved that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship since middle school. He further alleged that Kim Soo Hyun’s side offered the whistleblower ₩4.00 billion KRW (about $2.91 million USD) in exchange for the file and assaulted the individual when the offer was rejected.

Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team strongly denied all these allegations, calling them “absurd and baseless lies.”
They also highlighted the seriousness of submitting a criminal complaint based on a forged audio file, emphasizing that such actions amount to a clear case of false accusation.
Kim Se Ui and the late Kim Sae Ron’s family went beyond merely spreading false information based on a forged audio file, they even filed a criminal complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of false charges and violations of the Child Welfare Act.
