On the June 19 episode of JTBC’s reality show Divorce Camp, the final mediation session of the 12th season featured the much-discussed “diet couple.”During the heated exchange, the husband came under fire for making derogatory remarks about his wife’s former weight.
Previously, he had chosen harsh words such as:
- “Look at the fat folding under your chest.”
- “Sleeping with a woman who weighs over 90kg is extremely shameful.”
- “It’s insane.”
- “I locked the door at night because I was afraid my wife might pounce on me.”

Since then, the wife—who once weighed nearly 100kg—has impressively lost 45kg and now maintains a weight of 52kg.
In their latest conversation, the husband doubled down, stating:
“Not wanting to sleep with a fat woman is the same as not wanting to sleep with a short man. I have opinions too—what’s the problem?”

The remark has generated a wave of criticism online, with viewers condemning his insensitivity and body-shaming commentary. Even so, the husband attempted to soften his stance, adding:
“It didn’t start as love, but now I really love her.”
Despite his eventual positive note, his earlier remarks continue to dominate audience reactions, reflecting ongoing discussions around body image and respect in relationships.
