Tables Turn: Koreans Show Support For THE BOYZ’s Ju Haknyeon In Light Of New Information

Haknyeon denied the allegations.

Ju Haknyeon was recently withdrawn from boy group THE BOYZ following reports that he had met with former Japanese AV actress Kirara Asuka while in Japan. In response, his agency terminated his contract and officially confirmed his departure from the group. He initially addressed fans with a handwritten apology on Instagram. However, as speculation and rumors continued circulating online, he returned to Instagram with a longer post, this time criticizing both his agency and the media.

Ju Haknyeon spoke out on Instagram on June 20, 2025, denying all allegations of illegal activity and stating he never agreed to leave THE BOYZ or terminate his contract. He claimed the agency acted without his consent, demanding over β‚©200 million KRW (about $145,000 USD) in compensation and falsely informing the media of his departure. He also criticized outlets for spreading unverified rumors involving prostitution, calling them defamatory and baseless. Though he admitted to feeling scared, he said he could no longer remain silent and vowed to pursue legal action against both the agency and the media. Determined to clear his name, he expressed hope that his fight would give strength to others facing similar injustices.

Ju Haknyeon Calls Out Agency Claiming He Never Left The Group

The agency is making it seem like there is a reason for termination of the contract, even though there is no reason for termination, and some media outlets are defaming me by mentioning prostitution without any basis.

The agency demanded compensation of over β‚©200 million KRW (about $145,000 USD) and told me to leave the company, but I have never accepted it. Regardless, they announced to the press that the termination was confirmed.

I want to ask whether the agency’s attitude of trying to unilaterally remove me from the group and urge me to terminate my contract by demanding over β‚©200 million KRW (about $145,000 USD) just because I was with a famous person in a private setting is the attitude of an agency that should be protecting the artist.

Following this revelation, netizens have begun speaking out in support for Haknyeon, questioning the agency instead. They called out the agency’s shady reputation and bad handling of the matter, as well as the heavy fee. Haknyeon claims that he only attended the gathering and did not solicit Asuka’s services. If this is true, One Hundred Label’s handling of the matter and allowing it to escalate would have done Haknyeon a total dissservice.

  • Huh, if he only went to the gathering, then things are totally different, regardless of if it’s still bad or not. What is up with his company?
  • β‚©2.00 billion KRW (about $1.45 million USD) in penalty fees is too much though.
  • If he only went there, then it isn’t even reason to kick him out though?
  • Well, Bunshin should report about it soon anyway.
  • Seeing how they asked for β‚©2.00 billion KRW (about $1.45 million USD) in penalties, if he didn’t do prostitution then things are totally different though.
