A girl group will no longer be performing on December 6 at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The news comes shortly after they made headlines for a controversial new music video.
DOLLA is a Malaysian girl group formed in 2019 by Universal Music Malaysia. Their debut single, “Dolla Make You Wanna,” was released on March 20, 2020. Recently, the music video for their new song, “Question,” was met with criticism from Malaysia’s religious authorities.
The music video, which was released on November 6, was removed less than a week later due to the group’s “tight-sticky dresses”. Some critics reportedly deemed them “suggestive”, triggering a wave of backlash. However, on November 20, DOLLA rereleased the “Question” MV, which appears to be unchanged from the original, under the title “DOLLA – QUESTION (Official Music Video) [International Version]”.
On November 21, Sah Entertainment, the organizers for DOLLA’s Dolla Good Girls Gone Bad Live in Concert, and Universal Music Malaysia announced the show’s cancellation.
After reassessing the overall timeline for event preparations, which includes safety, technical aspects, necessary approvals, and operational readiness, we concluded that the final preparations could not be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Continuing with the event under these uncertain circumstances could introduce unnecessary risks, including the possibility of a last-minute disruption, which would unfairly affect all ticket holders.

According to Sah Entertainment director Sufie Rashid, the concert has been cancelled due to time constraints and safety concerns. He said, “Our absolute priority is the safety and welfare of the artistes, crew, venue team, and, most importantly, the fans. We refuse to deliver a performance that is anything less than DOLLA’s best.” The processing for ticket refunds will begin “immediately.”
Universal Music Malaysia managing director, Kim Lim, also addressed the cancellation and fans’ disappointment.
To all the loyal DOLLA fans, we genuinely share your disappointment and understand the high hopes you had for this show. Cancelling an event is never an easy choice, especially when it involves an outstanding group like DOLLA and their strong relationship with their fanbase, iDolla.
We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused, but our commitment to ensuring a safe and flawless experience remains our primary focus.
