Usually, the announcement that a group has renewed their contracts is met with excitement from fans, who are glad the group will be remaining together.
However, in the case of VERIVERY, the news has been met with less-than-positive reactions.
VERIVERY debuted on January 9, 2019, under Jellyfish Entertainment as a seven-member group. The group was the company’s first boy group in six years following the debut of VIXX previously. The group remained active for years, but went over a year without releasing music following their 2023 release Liminality – EP.Dream.
However, in 2025, it was announced that three members, Dongheon, Gyehyeon, and Kangmin, would participate in Boys II Planet.
The latter made it to the final episode, placing ninth and narrowly missing out on being part of the winning group.
Now, after fans have wondered about Kangmin’s fate, an answer was given in the form of a re-announcement that the active members of the group had renewed their contracts with Jellyfish.

And while many fans were happy about the news overall, many had mixed feelings about the renewal considering the company’s alleged mismanagement so far.
- Huh? They just let all that buzz after Boys Planet die out and left things hanging, then suddenly re-signed? 😂😂😂 This company is seriously awful — anyone who’s ever looked into their artists would know that.
- Jellyfish should just quit the idol business. They really have no idea what they’re doing.
- That’s a shame… Kangmin from VERIVERY was already well-known even before Produce, but judging by how the group never took off, I doubt the Boys Planet boost will help much. It would’ve been better if he’d started fresh.
- I’m not sure if re-signing with Jellyfish is even a good thing.
