It’s time to move on.
A female idol has announced her departure from her group just one year after making her debut.
Lucine (also known as Mireille Chin Yi Ling) is a member of KLP48, a Malaysian girl group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and the tenth international sister group of Japan’s AKB48. The group was announced on January 1, 2024 and debuted on August 18, 2024.
On September 18, Lucine went live on the official KLP48 Instagram account and announced that she will be leaving the group. Like AKB48 and its other sister groups, KLP48 has a revolving lineup system that allows current members to exit by “graduating” and new members to take their place.
However, Lucine’s graduation marks a special milestone in KLP48’s history; she will be the group’s first member to ever graduate. Her official graduation ceremony will take place on October 19, 2025.
