JTBC’s upcoming Friday drama “My Youth” has dropped its first still of Song Joong Ki in character!
“My Youth” is a romance drama that tells the story of Sunwoo Hae (Song Joong Ki), who begins to live an ordinary life later than most people, and Sung Je Yeon (Chun Woo Hee), who must disrupt her first love’s tranquility for her own success.
The newly released stills show Song Joong Ki as Sunwoo Hae, surrounded by flowers. A former child star who burned through the prime of his life too quickly, florist Sunwoo Hae started an ordinary life later than most. For Sunwoo Hae, who spent his youth in a dark, difficult time, the daily routine of roaming the flower market at dawn and tending to plants during the day is peaceful happiness itself.
Sunwoo Hae’s calm smile in the photos raises curiosity about his life story, one he has carefully built on top of past wounds. For him, the sudden return of Sung Je Yeon, his first love at 19, brings unexpected and chaotic changes. It also adds to the mystery of why Sunwoo Hae, who is also a novelist, hides his name and lives in secrecy.
Song Joong Ki explained why he chose the project, saying, “The moment I read the ‘My Youth’ script, I felt a warm feeling. I liked the warm romance and the story full of human touches, which I hadn’t experienced in a while. Unlike my previous roles with strong fantasy elements, the character Sunwoo Hae, grounded in reality, really connected with me.”
“My Youth” is set to premiere on September 5 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will air two consecutive episodes every Friday. The drama will be available on Viki.
