Comedian Jung Joo Ri has posted a lengthy apology regarding false advertising allegations surrounding a beauty product she promoted on YouTube.
On August 8, 2025, Jung took to her social media to apologize.
“I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt because of the brand I recently appeared in advertisements for. After the ad was uploaded, I received negative reports about the brand through various channels. I repeatedly expressed that I could not participate in advertisements containing false content, such as the phrase ‘famous in Australia,’ and requested that the ad be deleted. This was reflected. Knowing that there were people who trusted me and purchased the product, I feel a heavy sense of responsibility. I can only say I am truly sorry to those who believed in me.”
The controversy began when Brand A’s products were promoted as “Australian cosmetics,” but it was later confirmed that the actual manufacturer was based in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Several products, including the brand’s signature wrinkle improvement cream, faced allegations of false or exaggerated advertising.
Jung Joo Ri is a South Korean comedian known for her quick wit, unfiltered humor, and numerous appearances on popular variety shows. She rose to fame through Gag Concert and has since built a career that blends stand-up comedy, variety program appearances, and online content creation
Meanwhile, singer Bada was also found to have promoted the same product. On August 5, she posted a handwritten apology and announced she would suspend her YouTube content activities to take time for self-reflection. You can read more about Bada’s apology below.
