TVING’s upcoming original series “Dear X” (literal translation) has shared a glimpse of its first script reading session!
Based on a webtoon, “Dear X” follows the story of Baek Ah Jin (Kim You Jung), a renowned actress who achieves success by using others, only to experience a subsequent downfall. In addition to depicting the two faces of Baek Ah Jin, the romance drama portrays her love story with the man who stays by her side.
The script reading brought together directors Lee Eung Bok and Park So Hyun, writer Choi Ja Won, and the cast, including Kim You Jung, Kim Young Dae, and Kim Do Hoon.
Kim You Jung stars as Baek Ah Jin, a woman who hides behind a mask to survive. Baek Ah Jin is an A-list actress who overcame childhood wounds to reach the top, using her sharp insight into others’ hearts to get what she wants. Kim You Jung impressed at the script reading with a gripping performance that revealed the cruel nature behind Baek Ah Jin’s beautiful face.
Kim Young Dae plays Yoon Joon Seo, who believes his love can save Baek Ah Jin. Yoon Joon Seo has stayed by her side his entire life, becoming both her only safe haven and her greatest weakness. For her, he is willing to walk through any mire, ultimately tearing down everything he once protected for the sake of love. Kim Young Dae delivers a powerful performance of Yoon Joon Seo’s unyielding devotion.
Kim Do Hoon plays Kim Jae Oh, a man whose life purpose changes with a single word from Baek Ah Jin. After enduring his father’s abuse since childhood, Jae Oh finds meaning in life through Baek Ah Jin, who shares his pain and willingly becomes her shadow. Kim Do Hoon portrays Jae Oh as a precarious man who stays by her side in a way different from Yoon Joon Seo.
