tvN has unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”!
Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Girls’ Generation’s Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet.
The newly released teaser begins in the present day, where Yeon Ji Young ecstatically celebrates winning a prestigious culinary competition in France. However, before she can properly enjoy her win, she suddenly finds herself mysteriously transported back in time.
As Lee Heon appears on screen with his bow drawn, Yeon Ji Young narrates, “During the happiest moment of my life, I met the worst of tyrants.” During a hunt, Lee Heon happens to come across the strangely dressed Yeon Ji Young, who has just landed in the Joseon era—and as a result, the unfortunate chef soon ends up kneeling on a cold stone floor in prisoners’ attire.
However, Yeon Ji Young gains a chance to survive when Lee Heon proposes a bet with life-or-death stakes. “If [your cooking] doesn’t suit my taste, the punishment will be death,” he says threateningly.
The teaser ends with Yeon Ji Young seemingly just realizing Lee Heon’s identity as she exclaims in horror, “Oh no… ‘Your Majesty’?!”
